Rules & Regulations

Please read the following Rules and Regulations carefully:

  1. The Short Story writing Contest is open to all Malaysians aged 12 and above.
  2. Write using any theme or in any genre as long as it’s woven with Australian places of interest, food experience, cultural and dynamic lifestyle dimensions. It’s up to you how you want to write it.Autumn_Family
  3. Entries must be 3000 to 4000 words in length, typed, double spaced on white A4 paper and in Arial 12 point font or similar. Each entry must be saved as PDF format, any other formats are not accepted.
  4. Your particulars like name and NRIC numbers must NOT appear on any pages of your entry to maintain impartiality and confidentiality of entry.
  5. Entries are limited to two (2) submissions only and must be sent via All entries must be acknowledged via email and winners will be notified.
  6. Proof of uploading is not proof of receipt unless you receive an email acknowledging the submission of your entry via the website, within three (3) days.
  7. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
  8. The employees of the Organiser, immediate family members, suppliers, sponsors and relevant parties involved in this contest are not eligible to enter this contest.
  9. All entries must reach the organizer by 12noon, 31st March 2016. Late entries will be disqualified. Shortlisted entrants will be notified via post, call or email on the details.
  10. Copyright of the stories will belong to the Organizer. By submitting an entry, the contestant thereby grants the Organisers the right to publish their entry in any format whatsoever as deemed fit by the Organisers in the event of being shortlisted and/or winning the competition.
  11. Entry sent must be original works and must not be copied, plagiarised and duplicated from other sources. Evidence of this misdemeanour will result in the disqualification of the entry stated.
  12. Each entrant is allowed to submit a maximum of two (2) short story entries only.

  13. The Organisers cannot accept responsibility for entries which are not received or not received in full or that which are received after the closing date due to technical failure or for any other reason.
  14. Submission of the Official Entry Form constitutes acceptance of the Rules and Regulations of the competition, and all contestants agree to abide by the Organisers’ and judges’ decisions.
  15. Entries not conforming to the Rules & Regulations will be disqualified.
  16. The contest may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances and all participants will be duly informed.
